Department of International Relations announces the opening of the call for applications to the project of scholarship exchange implemented within the PROM programme.
The project offers the opportunity for obtaining financial support for short-term mobility for training (outgoing mobility abroad and incoming mobility from foreign higher education institutions).
The project encompasses a wide scope of eligible forms of training (including teaching activities, courses, internships, study visits, research, obtaining materials for a PhD thesis or scientific article). The preferred mobility objective is active participation in a conference (including, e.g., participation in a poster session or a flash talk).
Eligible mobility participants: PhD students and academic staff of University of Silesia in Katowice and foreign higher education institutions (in case of incoming mobility to University of Silesia in Katowice). Preferred outgoing mobility of staff members who were below the age of 39 years at the end of 2018.
Eligible countries of stay and performance of training as well as countries from which incoming mobility participants come to University of Silesia in Katowice: unlimited
Duration of mobility: from 5 to 18 days (including 2 days for travel)
All outgoing and incoming mobility activities carried out within the project must be completed by 30.09.2019.
Financing:
Flat rates of financial support for costs of travel, health insurance, third party insurance, accident insurance, costs of visa fees or fees connected to legalisation of stay, depending on the distance (from PLN 1,000 to PLN 5,000), and flat rates of financial support for costs of subsistence, depending on the country and length of stay (from PLN 337 to PLN 800 per day), as well as costs of conference/training/course fees.
Candidates are recruited in two stages.
The first stage at the level of the appropriate organisational unit of the home institution, i.e. University of Silesia in Katowice (Faculty) or the foreign higher education institution (in case of incoming mobility of PhD students and academic staff of foreign higher education institutions to University of Silesia in Katowice). Mobility proposals should be submitted on an application form (Annex II). In the event of a large number of applications from one faculty, a ranking list should be enclosed.
The second stage at the central level of University of Silesia in Katowice: verification aimed at ensuring that the mobility structure is in accordance with the structure specified in the regulations of the PROM programme. Acceptance of individual candidates is confirmed in the application form. In the event of a large number of candidates a ranking list should be enclosed with the application forms. The closest deadline for submitting applications: 30.03.2019.

Mobility participants are required to consent to the transfer of their data to the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, including data concerning education, belonging to a national or ethnic minority, housing and social situation, and disability. All requirements are specified by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange.
